Each of these characters has a unique design, backstory, and gear that can help your team. Here's what we know about all 27 so farHonkai: Star Railgrades so far.
Arlan

Arlan heads the security department of the Herta space station and places great importance on the protection of the station's personnel. He even considers his scars a "badge of honor" for defending them. He is quite reserved, but obviously has a soft spot for his dog, Peppy.

Asta is the lead astronomer in charge of the Herta space station, eclipsing the place's actual owner, who takes a fairly straightforward approach (doesn't create anything). She oversees the station's staff, operations and astronomical research, while Herta focuses on her own projects.
Bailu

Bailu is a member of her planet's Vidyadhara race - something related to her antler-like horns. She is known in her area as a "healer" due to her medical expertise. She obviously hates seeing others suffer, so she closes her eyes while dealing with their suffering and injuries.

Blade is a Stellaron hunter, just like Kafka and Silver Wolf. According to his HoYoLAB introduction, he uses an ancient sword full of cracks "as his body and mind". It's unclear what that actually means since we don't know much about him.
Bronya

Bronya commands the Silvermane Guards, Belobog Police Force. She is also the heir and next in line to become Belobog's Supreme Warden. At first, she is strict and purposeful. She then begins to relax as she realizes that her understanding of the underworld is different than expected. Fun fact: She shares her name with a colleagueHonkai Impact 3.
Clara

Clara is an orphan who hangs around with a robot said to be from an ancient civilization named Svarog. Her biggest wish is to "have a family". We don't know much about her role yet, but her status as a 5-star character and mascot on the starter wish banner is promising.

Dan Heng is one of the first characters to join the main character's team along with March 7th. If March 7 is bubbling water, it's more of a calm sea. He joined the Astral Express as a Guardian to escape his past. We don't know much about it yet.
Cheetah

Cheetah is the leader of the Silvermane Guards under Bronya's command. His iron grip on the city's defenses keeps Belobog safe, but those closest to him wonder if he will ever relax. He belongs to the Landau noble family and is a sibling of Serval, who teases him for his righteous behavior.

Herta is one of the most intelligent beings in the galaxy and a member of the Genius Society. Unfortunately, she quickly loses interest as a result - just like in the space station. Most often she appears in a doll body modeled after her younger self.

Himeko found the abandoned mechanical body of the Astral Express and repaired it as a child, fueling the Express' journey through galaxies. Jing Yuan is one of the six generals of the Xianzhou Alliance and the leader of the Cloud Knights, the protectors of Xianzhou Luofu. ThatHonkai: Star RailThe Summer Game Fest trailer first introduced him and gave a first look at the new venue. He is expected to appear in the finals of Xianzhou LuofuHonkai: Star RailBeta.
Kafka

Kafka is the first character we meet in the beta that brings the protagonist to life. She's a Stellaron hunter, which makes sense since she knows a lot about a creature that can absorb its contents. However, her connection to the main character is still a mystery.

"This coffin is not mine. I was only entrusted to bring the body back to Luofu," he says.
