Tips for Storing, Handling, and Using Your Edible Images
The images are printed on a real enamel layer with edible ink. The frosting is held together by a plastic backing sheet that you remove before applying the image to your frosted treats. The icing image has only 1 plastic backing sheet, once this backing sheet is removed it can be applied.
STORAGE:Keep your frosting sheet sealed in the ziplock bag it came in until you are ready to use it. Store flat on a shelf at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. The shelf life of the icing sheets is approximately 24 months when stored properly.
AgainNOPlace the image in the refrigerator or freezer, otherwise it could blister and dry out, causing the image to crack.
CUTTING OF IMAGE SHEETS:If you have ordered sheets of images that are not cropped, or if you need to crop an image, you can simply crop them out with a clean pair of scissors before removing the plastic cover.
WHEN YOU SHOULD APPLY:If you use buttercream or other harder icing, the image can be applied at will, but no more than 48 hours before the event. Depending on how wet the frosting is, too much moisture will start to fade the image. If you are concerned about fading, place the image on the cake within an hour of the event.
HOW TO APPLY:AgainNOAllow the water to come in contact with the edible image before or after the cake. The sheet will melt and ruin the print. Make sure your hands are clean and dry before touching the paint. Your frosting should be cool. If your icing dries out, drizzle a thin layer of water over the icingNOthe image before applying the image to your ice cream treat. If the surface of your treats is wet, do it.NOAdd additional moisture. Using too much water can cause colors to run and melt your image.
Edible images cannot be moved once applied. Plan where to place the image. Remove your image from the plastic backing by carefully placing it face up on the edge of a table or counter and tightly rolling the backing sheet over the edge of the table to release your image. Never pull on the image itself, as it may tear.
Place the edible image sheet into your ice cold treat, holding the ends and gently spreading it from the center toward the ends first. Gently flatten the edible image, making sure the edges touch the icing. If the image bubbles after applicationGENTLY TOUCH(AlsoNOrub) the image. It will take 20-30 minutes for the image to fuse into the glaze (may take longer depending on the glaze) so take your time and be patient. If you touch it, you could leave a fingerprint, like frosting. Finish by adding a piped border or border decorations of your choice.
You can store the finished treat in the refrigerator to keep the image moist and crack-free until ready to serve. Avoid excessive exposure to ultraviolet light. As with any food coloring, the image may fade over time.
USE IN:
You can apply over any colored icing, but remember that dark colors (chocolate, etc.) may show through the image. In this case, I would suggest placing the image on a thin piece of fondant and then on your iced treat.
Buttercream Frosting- Apply the image right after icing the cake. The buttercream frosting will form a thin crust after 15 to 30 minutes. When the buttercream has formed a crust, drizzle a thin layer of sugar water or corn syrup brush over the buttercream frosting before applying the image.
whipped cream– DO NOT add additional moisture. Due to the high water content in whipped cream, apply the edible image as soon as possible before serving. Any type of glaze with a very high moisture content tends to cause bleeding. A thin layer of buttercream can be applied to the area where the image will be placed to prevent bleeding or fading.
ice cream cake- If you are applying the image to an ice cream cake topped with non-dairy whipped cream, do so.NOadd additional water. If you are applying the image directly to the ice cream, it is best to let the ice "sweat" a bit before applying the image, or to drizzle the ice cream with milk before applying the image. When working with soft ice cream, you will get best results if you apply the image while the ice cream is soft and then freeze it. If the image bubbles after application or during freezing,GENTLY TOUCH(AlsoNOrub) the image. If the decorated cake is frozen, thaw it slowly, preferably in the refrigerator. As with any food coloring, the image may fade over time.
sugar paste or fondant- Use a small brush to apply water only where the image will be placed. Water outside of the image area may leave streaks in the fondant (although it will tend to dry out and return to its normal color).
royal icing- It is best to apply your image immediately after icing your product as it will not fully cure. If not, add a generous mist of water over the royal icing before applying the image.
poured chocolate or ganache- Pour the glaze over the product and then apply the image while the glaze is still wet. Let the image harden before moving it.
Regular/Store Bought Frosting- If using store bought or refrigerated frosting, take it out and mix in a bowl until smooth and creamy. You may need to drizzle the top of the layered frosting with sugar water to make it extra moist for the frosting layer.
frozen pies– Thaw slightly before frosting to prevent cracking, then image. If the decorated cake is frozen, thaw it slowly, preferably in the refrigerator, uncovered to prevent color bleeding and sweating.
Cookies- There are several ways to decorate cookies with stickers. Regular frosting, icing, royal icing, or corn syrup thinned with a little water will make the image stick to most cookies.
Oreo cookies- Put corn syrup diluted with a little water on the cookie with chocolate chips and place the edible image on top.
Bonbonlutscher- Spread the lollipop lightly with corn syrup diluted with a little water, apply the image.
Chocolate– Corn syrup diluted with a little water applied to the bar or heating the chocolate with a hair dryer for about 20 seconds works well. Apply the edible image to it.
TIPS:
Removing sheets that appear to be stuck to the backing sheet: Pull the backing sheet across the sharp edge of a table top several times. This technique helps separate the image from the backing sheet.
If this doesn't work, the humidity is too high. High humidity can cause the icing layer to absorb moisture and stick to baked goods, making it difficult to peel off.
In this case, do not try to peel off the layer of icing. It is likely to break.
Try the following:
Lay the sheet on a tray and place in a warm, dry oven at around 85°F for about 8-10 minutes, after which the image will usually peel off the backing sheet a bit. (This method actually works best) or use a blow dryer on the front and back of the backing sheet. Dry in circular motions for about 60 seconds on each side. Do not dry it close. Repeat if necessary until the foil becomes a bit firmer. Then the film can be easily removed.
Place the ice sheet in a DRY freezer for about 30 seconds. If the humidity is high, you may need to leave it on longer, about 1-1.5 minutes. It must be removed immediately after removing it from the freezer.

As a supplier of grocery products, we know and understand how important this is.Your Healthwhen buying a product marked as edible on the Internet. Therefore, we ask that you consider this before purchasing any edible products, many sellers on Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and sites on the Internet claim to sell direct.edible products, if thatIt is not quite correct. To be considered a fully edible print, it must be printed on icing paper, sugar paper, rice paper, potato paper, or chocolate wrapper. The printer must be 100% sterilized and never (very importantly) never used with standard ink, this is where most of them lie. Standard ink, regular ink like Canon, Epson, Brother Inks, ect.,they are not edibleand cannot be used for human consumption.Cannot use standard (normal) inks. They are not safe to digest and in this case medical attention should be sought immediately. Standard (regular) ink is very economical in quantity compared to FDA certified edible ink, costing 10-15 times more than standard (regular) ink.
On the other hand, the paper used must be accredited by theFDA and sealed to avoid any type of contamination.Remember that this is what will be offered to your family and guests for consumption.
Be very careful when looking for a grocery product and look for company profiles and company history. Since this is very important, most of the time we can tell right away by looking at thisprice of a product. if it is very cheap it is because something is wrong. Another option is to view the certifications, as well as the dates on those certifications to make sure they are genuine and not expired. You can request certification from any seller if they refuse to state that it is most likely fake or does not have one.
